Compliance Manager
SoftConstruct is seeking a Compliance Manager to join its team. The role involves monitoring, analysing, and interpreting regulatory developments, with a primary focus on African markets.
The Compliance Manager will identify compliance vulnerabilities, assess operational risks, and recommend strategic improvements across the business. They will ensure strict adherence to AML, CTF, Responsible Gambling, Data Protection, and licensing regulations.
This role requires developing, updating, and implementing comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and manuals. It also involves performing risk-based internal audits and preparing detailed compliance assessments, audits, and monthly regulatory reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
The Compliance Manager will conduct regular compliance checks on new content releases and complete monthly website and social media compliance reviews. Collaboration with operational and support teams is key to implementing compliance policies and evaluating their effectiveness. The role also supports development and product teams in delivering new product compliance features and oversees flagged client reviews regarding AML and Responsible Gambling concerns.
Other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that align with the role and comply with the labour code will also be carried out.
- Monitor, analyze, and interpret regulatory developments, with a primary focus on African markets.
- Identify compliance vulnerabilities, assess operational risks, and recommend strategic improvements across the business.
- Ensure strict adherence to AML, CTF, Responsible Gambling, Data Protection, and licensing regulations.
- Develop, update, and implement comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Perform risk-based internal audits and maintain up-to-date AML, Responsible Gambling, and operational manuals.
- Prepare detailed compliance assessments, audits, and monthly regulatory reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular compliance checks on new content releases and complete monthly website and social media compliance reviews.
- Collaborate with operational and support teams to implement compliance policies and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Work actively across key compliance areas, including AML, CTF, Gambling Legislation, IBIA standards, Advertising, and Data Protection.
- Support development and product teams in delivering new product compliance features.
- Oversee flagged client reviews regarding AML and Responsible Gambling concerns.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that align with the role and comply with the labour code.
- At least 3 years of proven professional experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs (required).
- Deep understanding of various African iGaming and gambling markets (required).
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field (required).
- Strong understanding of fundamental business processes, operational risks, and controls (required).
- Proven ability to conduct thorough compliance assessments and risk evaluations (required).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (required).
- Strong proficiency in risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and compliance-related processes (required).
- Exceptional analytical, planning, negotiation, and problem-solving skills (required).
- Proven time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment (required).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as an active team player (required).
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations (required).
- Familiarity with task management systems (e.g., Jira, Asana) (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of ethical hacking or cybersecurity concepts (nice-to-have).
- Professional compliance certification (e.g., CAMS, CCEP, CRCM) (nice-to-have).
