Deputy Head of Legal Department
SoftConstruct is seeking a Deputy Head of Legal Department to join its team. The role involves assisting in the development and implementation of legal strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
The successful candidate will provide legal support and strategic advice to various departments on Armenian laws and regulatory matters. This includes identifying and mitigating legal risks related to business operations and corporate governance, and staying updated on changes in Armenian legislation to ensure compliance across the organisation.
The position requires overseeing the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts, agreements, and legal documents. It also involves assisting in managing corporate governance matters, supporting the implementation of internal legal policies, and conducting legal risk assessments.
Responsibilities extend to representing the company in regulatory matters, managing legal disputes, and ensuring the protection of intellectual property rights. The role also includes assisting in handling regulatory audits and overseeing judicial and extrajudicial processes to protect the company’s interests.
Furthermore, the Deputy Head of Legal Department will coordinate compliance with gaming-related legislative requirements and support the Head of Legal Department in managing the legal team, providing leadership and mentorship. This includes assisting in training and developing legal staff and ensuring the efficiency of legal operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing legal strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
- Provide legal support and strategic advice to various departments on Armenian laws and regulatory matters.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks related to business operations and corporate governance.
- Stay updated on changes in Armenian legislation and ensure compliance across the organization.
- Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure compliance with Armenian law.
- Assist in managing corporate governance matters, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of internal legal policies and compliance frameworks.
- Conduct legal risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
- Represent the company in regulatory matters, liaising with government authorities, legal advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Manage legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration cases in collaboration with external legal counsel.
- Ensure the protection of intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyrights.
- Assist in handling regulatory audits and investigations.
- Oversee the implementation of judicial and extrajudicial processes to protect the company’s interests.
- Coordinate compliance with gaming-related legislative requirements and facilitate regulatory amendments.
- Support the Head of Legal Department in managing the legal team, providing leadership and mentorship.
- Assist in training and developing legal staff to enhance their professional skills and legal expertise.
- Ensure the efficiency of legal operations and contribute to process improvements within the legal department.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that align with the job description and comply with the labor code.
- Strong expertise in Armenian corporate, business, and contract law (required).
- Master’s degree in Law (licensed to practice in Armenia) (required).
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience (required).
- At least 2 years in a managerial or senior legal role (required).
- Experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution (required).
- Ability to support business operations with legal guidance while ensuring compliance (required).
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing legal teams (required).
- Fluency in Armenian and Russian (required).
- Proficiency in English is an advantage (nice-to-have).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities (required).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple legal matters effectively (required).
