Manager of International Commercial Transactions Legal Team
SoftConstruct is seeking a Manager of International Commercial Transactions Legal Team to provide strategic leadership and guidance for its international legal operations. The role involves overseeing a team of legal professionals to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality support for global business activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex international commercial contracts and ensuring that all transactions align with the strategic objectives of SoftConstruct. This position requires a proactive approach to legal risk management and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration across various departments.
- Lead and manage the International Commercial Transactions team, providing strategic direction and guidance to ensure efficient and high-quality legal support.
- Oversee the team’s performance, providing mentorship, training, and professional development to strengthen capabilities in international commercial law.
- Allocate resources and responsibilities effectively to achieve department goals and ensure the timely completion of legal tasks related to international transactions.
- Supervise and support the drafting, review, and negotiation of international commercial contracts, including sales, distribution, licensing, and joint venture agreements.
- Provide expert legal advice on complex international commercial transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant international laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ensure all commercial agreements align with the company’s strategic objectives and legal requirements.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with other departments, including Finance, Compliance, and Procurement, to ensure seamless execution of international transactions.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks associated with international commercial transactions.
- Ensure the company’s international transactions comply with all relevant domestic and international regulations, including trade laws, export controls, and anti-bribery regulations.
- Lead efforts in dispute resolution, ensuring effective negotiation and settlement of commercial disputes across borders.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including international partners, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with external law firms and advisors to ensure the company’s commercial transactions are well-supported from a legal perspective.
- Communicate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in the legal processes related to international commercial transactions, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies that support the company’s international growth and business development objectives.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that align with the job description and comply with the labor code.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (required).
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications in International Business Law or Commercial Law (nice-to-have).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in international commercial law, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role (required).
- Proven experience in handling international contracts and commercial transactions, particularly in the context of global business operations (required).
- Extensive knowledge of international commercial law, including contract law, trade regulations, and dispute resolution mechanisms (required).
- Proven experience in managing a team and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure successful legal outcomes in international commercial transactions (required).
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with drafting and managing complex international agreements (required).
- Experience in cross-border legal matters, including trade compliance, export controls, and international dispute resolution (required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with senior management, stakeholders, and external advisors (required).
- Proficiency in Armenian, Russian, and English is essential (required).
