Payments Business Development Executive

Description

SoftConstruct is seeking a Payments Business Development Executive to join its team. This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities with payment service providers, banks, and fintech partners to enhance payment solutions.

The successful candidate will manage the sales pipeline, negotiate commercial agreements, and collaborate with internal departments such as Product, Finance, and Compliance to ensure successful partner onboarding and implementation. The role involves representing the company at industry events and analysing payment performance data to drive business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with PSPs, banks, acquirers, payment gateways, and fintech partners.
  • Identify, research, and engage potential Payment Service Providers (PSPs), acquiring banks, payment gateways, payment aggregators, payment facilitators, and alternative payment method providers.
  • Coordinate commercial discussions and support the preparation, negotiation, and signing of agreements with PSPs and other payment partners.
  • Generate and qualify leads, manage the sales pipeline, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Assist with onboarding new payment solutions that improve geographic coverage, payment acceptance, customer payment experience, and business continuity.
  • Maintain working relationships with payment partners and help track vendor performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs, and service expectations.
  • Collect and analyze payment market information, partner proposals, transaction performance data, authorization rates, conversion rates, transaction costs, and settlement or reconciliation considerations.
  • Work with Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Fraud Prevention, and Technology teams to ensure successful partner onboarding and implementation.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve payment routing, approval rates, payment acceptance, and cost efficiency while considering fraud exposure and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare partner summaries, business cases, meeting notes, and progress updates for the Head of Payments, Payments Business Development Manager, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that align with the job description and comply with the labor code.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience in iGaming, online gambling, sports betting, gaming, high-volume online transactions, or another regulated digital commerce environment (required).
  • Experience in payments, fintech, business development, partnerships, account management, or a related commercial role involving external providers or financial services partners (required).
  • Working understanding of online payment ecosystems, including PSPs, acquiring banks, payment gateways, alternative payment methods, authorization, settlement, reconciliation, and transaction lifecycle basics (required).
  • Experience supporting commercial negotiations, partner onboarding, vendor management, or agreement coordination with payment providers (required).
  • Familiarity with payment performance indicators such as authorization rates, conversion rates, transaction costs, payment acceptance, approval rates, and customer payment success (required).
  • Exposure to payment routing, reconciliation, settlement, fraud prevention, AML, KYC, PSD2, SCA, or related compliance and risk considerations (required).
  • Ability to analyze market and payment data, summarize findings clearly, and translate them into practical business development recommendations (required).
  • Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly with partners and internal stakeholders (required).
  • Knowledge of English and Armenian languages (required).
  • Knowledge of any other language (nice-to-have).
