Principal Streaming Technology & Quality Lead
SoftConstruct is seeking a highly experienced Principal Streaming Technology & Quality Lead to take end-to-end ownership of streaming performance, quality, cost efficiency, and technology strategy for its live dealer casino business. Streaming is at the heart of the live casino experience, and the quality, stability, and latency of streams directly impact player experience across different markets, networks, devices, and platforms.
This is a senior individual contributor position. The role involves working closely with Product, Engineering, technical teams, streaming providers, and CDN partners to understand streaming performance at a granular level, identify problems and opportunities, and drive improvements. Beyond day-to-day quality optimization, the role will define the longer-term streaming technology strategy required to support the growth and scale of the business.
- Own the measurement and continuous improvement of streaming quality across all live dealer streaming providers.
- Build and continuously improve analytical dashboards that provide clear visibility into streaming performance and player experience.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify streaming quality degradation and incidents.
- Define and evolve the key metrics and KPIs used to measure streaming quality, reliability, latency, playback performance, and overall player experience.
- Analyze streaming performance across different markets, geographies, network conditions, device types, operating systems, browsers, and other relevant dimensions.
- Identify systemic issues, regional problems, provider-specific weaknesses, and opportunities for optimization.
- Translate data and technical findings into clear priorities and actionable improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and other technical teams to develop the analytics and infrastructure required to understand streaming performance.
- Investigate complex streaming issues together with internal technical teams and external partners.
- Define technical requirements and improvement initiatives and drive them from problem identification through implementation and validation.
- Act as the internal subject-matter expert for streaming technology and quality.
- Work directly with streaming technology providers and CDN partners to improve quality, reliability, latency, coverage, and scalability.
- Use performance data to identify provider-specific issues and drive corrective actions.
- Evaluate the performance of different providers across markets and use cases.
- Identify opportunities to optimize routing, provider allocation, CDN configuration, and overall streaming architecture.
- Monitor and optimize streaming service costs across providers while maintaining or improving the required quality of service.
- Develop the long-term streaming technology strategy required to support the growth and international scaling of the live dealer business.
- Assess the existing streaming architecture and identify capabilities that should be strengthened, replaced, or brought in-house.
- Lead technical and business evaluations of new streaming technologies, vendors, and providers.
- Develop recommendations on strategic decisions such as in-house vs. third-party player development, introduction of new streaming providers and CDNs, multi-provider and redundancy strategies, streaming architecture and technology evolution, quality vs. cost trade-offs, and infrastructure required to support new markets and increasing traffic.
- Stay current with developments in video streaming, real-time delivery, codecs, CDN technologies, playback technologies, and related infrastructure.
- 10+ years of experience in streaming-related technical roles, video infrastructure, media technology, or closely related fields (required)
- Strong experience operating or optimizing high-volume streaming services at scale (required)
- Deep understanding of streaming technologies, architectures, delivery mechanisms, video players, CDNs, and performance optimization (required)
- Experience with real-time or low-latency streaming environments (required)
- Experience in live dealer casino, live gaming, or a comparable real-time video operation (preferred)
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience using data, monitoring, dashboards, and observability tools to diagnose technical performance (required)
- Ability to move comfortably between detailed technical investigation and higher-level technology strategy (required)
- Experience working directly with streaming vendors, infrastructure providers, and/or CDNs (required)
- Proven track record of driving results through cross-functional collaboration without relying on direct organizational authority (required)
- Strong commercial awareness, including the ability to evaluate technology decisions from both performance and cost perspectives (required)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (required)
- High level of English comprehension (required)
- Armenian language skills (nice-to-have)
