Site Reliability Engineer – Middle
SOFTSWISS is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join its Infrastructure & Platform Team. The company is looking for a reliability-focused engineer to build and evolve resilient, scalable, and highly available infrastructure, ensuring the stability, performance, and operational excellence of its products while empowering development teams with reliable platform solutions.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of production platforms by building resilient infrastructure, improving observability, and automating operational processes. Working closely with development and infrastructure teams, the engineer will help prevent incidents, optimise system performance, and enable the reliable delivery of services at scale.
- Develop comprehensive monitoring solutions to provide full visibility to the different platform components.
- Build and enhance dashboards and alerting to monitor our apps and platform components.
- Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents.
- Evaluate our apps and platform components performance, provide improvements to meet our response goals.
- Engage with the development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale.
- Improve our CI/CD processes to make them as boring as possible (automatization, bots implementation and etc.).
- 3+ years of expertise in at least one major technology stack designing, coding, and delivering software (required).
- Good experience with scripting and object-oriented programming languages (like Ruby, Python, Java, etc.) (required).
- Experience with configuration management systems (Ansible / Saltstack / Terraform) (required).
- Good experience in process automation and monitoring solutions (DataDog/ELK/GrayLog) (required).
- Experience using AI tools to automate routine tasks (required).
- Experience deploying and maintaining products in the K8S stack (required).
- Good experience with distributed systems and challenges as they scale (required).
- Hands-on experience in complex technical problem solving as a daily duty (required).
- Strong knowledge in the internals of relational databases (required).
- Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving skills (required).
- English level: Intermediate and higher (required).
- Russian level: Upper-intermediate and higher (required).
- Understanding of Ruby on Rails key concepts (nice-to-have).
- Event streaming systems and message brokers experience (nice-to-have).
- Experience in database and application performance improvement (Hands-on experience in tuning solutions to improve performance) (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of caching techniques (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of SQL (nice-to-have).
