Privacy Specialist

Description

The Privacy Specialist role is an internal service provider position that supports Sportradar's fast growth by ensuring a solid and secure foundation.

This is a six-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, and the position is on-site.

The main focus of this role will be vendor privacy risk management, tracking and updating the records of processing activities at Sportradar, supporting data retention initiatives across the organisation, and administering staff awareness and training programmes on data protection within Sportradar.

The successful applicant will play an active part in Sportradar’s business AI transformation and expansion to new betting and gaming markets.

Responsibilities
  • Performing, recording and keeping vendor privacy assessments up-to-date to ensure compliance with Sportradar’s requirements (internal and external) and with the applicable privacy laws.
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating vendor data protection agreements.
  • Tracking and updating our records of processing activities (ROPAs).
  • Supporting the Privacy Team and the business stakeholders during the implementation process of data deletion and destruction schedules.
  • Managing the staff awareness and training programmes on data privacy and best data protection practices at Sportradar, including our Privacy Champions Program.
  • Supporting the Senior Privacy Lead with the handling of data subject requests, the annual updates of Sportradar’s internal and external privacy documentation and the regular trainings to the local data protection officers (DPOs).
  • Supporting the Privacy Analyst with the compiling of privacy impact assessments.
  • Doing research on legislative developments and requirements in the privacy and data protection area in jurisdictions where Sportradar operates, including Europe, Switzerland, and North and South America.
Requirements
  • Qualified lawyer with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role within the privacy/data protection field on an international scale (required).
  • Good knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, specifically the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (required).
  • Attentiveness to the changes in the privacy landscape (required).
  • Good understanding of different applications and systems (including current AI applications and features) (required).
  • Excellent written and spoken English (required).
  • Ability to work efficiently with senior stakeholders from different business units (required).
  • Pragmatic and solution-oriented person with the ability to work in fast-paced environment and prioritizing conflicting demands and requests from multiple stakeholders (required).
  • AI privacy knowledge (nice-to-have).
  • IAPP or similar privacy certifications (nice-to-have).
  • Experience with OneTrust (nice-to-have).
  • Passion for privacy, AI, sports, and technology (required).
