Security Operations Manager

Description

Sportradar is looking for a Security Operations Manager to lead a global function and own Security Operations end to end. This includes managing the Security Operations Centre, incident response, detection engineering, and threat intelligence, along with the people and platforms behind them.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a technical expert capable of leading incident bridges. The successful candidate will be responsible for evolving the operating model, on-call structure, tooling, and automation, while driving the coverage roadmap across the cloud estate and applications.

Responsibilities
  • Own incident response, including preparation, triage, containment, eradication, and post-incident reviews.
  • Lead major incidents personally and set standards for operational excellence.
  • Build and evolve the Security Operations Centre, including the operating model, on-call structure, tooling, and automation.
  • Drive detection engineering as an engineering discipline, ensuring detections are versioned, tested, tuned, and mapped to actual threats.
  • Develop an intelligence capability that informs hunting, detection, and leadership briefings.
  • Act as the voice of operational reality at the leadership table, working closely with engineering and product security teams.
  • Define and improve operational metrics such as detection coverage, investigation quality, and time to detect and contain.
Requirements
  • Deep, current incident response experience, including personally leading the response to serious incidents (required).
  • Proven experience building or rebuilding a Security Operations Centre, including hiring, tooling, and metrics (required).
  • Technical expertise in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including identity, logging, and lateral movement (required).
  • Detection engineering experience, including rule development, coverage mapping, tuning, and automation (required).
  • Experience building or running a threat intelligence function (required).
  • Track record of leading globally distributed technical teams across time zones (required).
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM or Data Lakes (required).
  • Experience with DDoS mitigation (required).
  • Experience with threat hunting and purple teaming (required).
