Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Description

Sportradar is seeking a full-stack SDK engineer to build the layer where its data reaches partner products. The new SDK concept and embeddable widgets are how hundreds of operators put live sports data, odds, and content in front of millions of users.

This is a hands-on delivery role. The engineer will ship within established foundations along with experienced Staff and Senior Engineers who will provide mentorship and guidance. Sportradar is building its engineering practice around modern tools and AI agents. The engineer's workflow experience carries as much weight as seniority.

The role involves extending the SDK within its existing architecture, building embeddable widgets, and integrating internal services and partner APIs. The engineer will ship daily with AI coding agents and embed that practice into repositories. Maintaining documentation, runnable examples, and error messages for integrating partners is also key.

Responsibilities
  • Extend the SDK within its existing architecture, including new modules, integrations, and TypeScript definitions, while ensuring quality and test coverage.
  • Build embeddable widgets that render correctly inside any partner page, translating mocks into responsive, themeable, and accessible UI.
  • Integrate internal services and partner APIs into the SDK and widget layer across REST, WebSocket, and SSE, with retries, reconnection, caching, and graceful degradation.
  • Ship daily with AI coding agents and embed that practice into repositories by developing context files, reusable skills, and MCP server integrations.
  • Maintain documentation, runnable examples, and error messages for integrating partners.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of production JavaScript/TypeScript development (required).
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with solid browser fundamentals including DOM, event loop, modern bundling (Vite, Rollup, esbuild), and module formats (required).
  • Daily experience with AI coding agents that goes beyond simple prompting, including structuring projects for agent compatibility (required).
  • Proven ability to consume HTTP and real-time APIs, including browser-side auth, CORS, and graceful degradation of failure modes (required).
  • Sufficient CSS and layout skill to build moderately complex widgets from mocks independently (required).
  • Clear writing for a developer audience and the instinct to ask early rather than build the wrong thing well (required).
  • Background in sports betting, iGaming, trading, or another real-time, high-frequency data environment (preferred).
  • Testing depth across unit, integration, and browser automation (e.g., Vitest, Playwright), including visual regression for widget rendering (preferred).
  • Experience with performance optimisations in a third-party context: bundle size, lazy loading, and impact on a host page (preferred).
  • CI/CD experience and release automation (preferred).
  • Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure (preferred).
Benefits
  • A collaborative environment with colleagues from all over the world, including various social events and teambuilding.
  • Flexibility to manage your workday and tasks with autonomy.
  • A vibrant and inclusive community, including Women in Tech and Pride groups.
  • Global Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Access to Calm and Reulay apps.
  • Online training videos.
  • Flexible working hours.
