Senior Software Engineer (Sports Media)
Sportradar is seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join the Sports Media Team. This role involves building platforms and products that collect, curate, distribute, analyse, and personalise sports data and content for a global audience.
The successful candidate will work on cloud-native solutions that support billions of calls per month and serve hundreds of millions of television viewers. The role requires collaboration within cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software that powers data for major sports leagues and media organisations.
- Design, build, test, and deploy cloud-native solutions used by enterprise customers.
- Work on an empowered cross-functional team with Product, Engineering, Design, and DevOps to deliver on the team's core mission.
- Partner with architecture and external development teams to design highly aligned services with clear separation of concerns.
- Advocate and optimise applications for maximum speed, scale, security, and maintainability through best practices.
- Participate in pull and merge request reviews to ensure high quality.
- Mentor and work closely with less experienced engineers to help them grow and deliver quality products.
- Act as a trusted member of the team, fostering a strong culture of collaboration and best practices in the software development lifecycle.
- 6+ years of experience in professional software development, designing and building systems (required)
- Experience with data-driven architecture and systems design, such as RESTful APIs and microservices (required)
- GraphQL experience (nice-to-have)
- Experience with scalable, maintainable, reliable production software (required)
- Proficiency utilising SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory stores at scale (required)
- Demonstrated understanding and implementation of software design principles such as SOLID (required)
- Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) (required)
- Experience working in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) model, including GitLab/GitHub and CI pipeline automation tools (required)
- Proven success working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban (required)
- Strong understanding and implementation of cloud-native architectures, specifically AWS serverless and/or containers at scale in production (preferred)
