Head of Line 1 Risk & Compliance
Sportsbet AU is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Line 1 Risk & Compliance to lead the Customer Operations, Sustainability and Enablement (COSE) Risk & Compliance team. Reporting to the General Manager Line 1 Risk & Compliance, the role will play a critical role in embedding Sportsbet AU's Line 1 Risk & Compliance operating model across the portfolio.
Working closely with senior business leaders, the role involves supporting effective risk ownership, strengthening control environments, and driving regulatory compliance. The position requires a professional who can help teams identify, manage, and mitigate risk in a practical and sustainable way.
As a key member of the broader Line 1 Risk leadership community, the Head of Line 1 Risk & Compliance will contribute to organisation-wide consistency, capability uplift, and continuous improvement. This role enables confident decision-making and helps Sportsbet AU deliver exceptional outcomes in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
- Partner with senior business leaders across the COSE portfolio to embed effective risk and compliance practices within day-to-day operations.
- Drive the consistent application of Sportsbet AU's Risk & Compliance Frameworks, Policies, Standards, and ways of working.
- Support the identification, assessment, management, monitoring, and escalation of risks, ensuring controls remain effective and fit for purpose.
- Lead and coordinate incident management, issue remediation, audit engagement, and assurance activities to achieve sustainable outcomes.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide risk maturity through collaboration, knowledge sharing, capability building, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Extensive experience leading risk and compliance functions within a regulated industry or complex corporate environment (required).
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, governance practices, regulatory obligations, and control environments (required).
- Demonstrated ability to partner and influence senior executives and business leaders to drive accountability and risk ownership (required).
- Experience managing audits, incidents, issues, remediation programs, and assurance activities (required).
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills (required).
