Senior Cloud Engineer
Sportsbet AU is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join its Enterprise Technology team and play a key role in shaping and scaling Sportsbet's cloud platform capabilities. Working within a centralised team of cloud specialists, the role will provide technical leadership across cloud architecture, automation, governance and cost optimisation initiatives. The engineer will partner with teams across Technology to deliver secure, scalable and high-performing cloud solutions that enable innovation across the business while helping advance its cloud maturity through modern engineering practices and reusable solutions.
- Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions across the enterprise.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Development, Cyber Security and Technology teams to deliver cloud platform initiatives.
- Drive automation across cloud and security environments, promoting self-service capabilities and operational excellence.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and best practice support to development teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to cloud strategy, governance and continuous improvement initiatives while mentoring others and sharing knowledge across the organisation.
- Strong experience developing software and automation solutions using Python or similar programming languages (required).
- Deep hands-on experience designing, building and supporting cloud solutions within AWS environments (required).
- Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts and core Internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP (required).
- Experience working within Agile environments, applying modern engineering and DevOps practices (required).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and technical documentation skills (required).
- Relevant IT qualifications or equivalent industry experience (required).
