Weekend Site Reliability Engineer
Sporty Group is seeking a Weekend Site Reliability Engineer to join its team of DevOps and DBA professionals. This role covers Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with a total of five working days per week and flexibility in days off.
The successful candidate will improve existing infrastructure and processes across the countries Sporty Group is deployed in, as well as streamline processes to deploy to new countries in the future. The role involves continuously improving Kubernetes platform stability and efficiency, optimising resource utilisation, reducing costs, and streamlining environment provisioning through GitOps-first practices. It also includes monitoring and maintaining cloud infrastructure, owning weekend on-call operations, triaging and responding to production incidents, performing root cause analysis, and driving post-incident reviews. The engineer will design and manage alert pipelines, define and maintain SLIs and SLOs for critical services, and take ownership of cloud operation activities. Additionally, the role involves liaising with external security agencies for audits, performing internal security sweeps, aiding in reconfiguring architecture for rapid deployments, and mentoring less experienced team members.
