Workday Integration Consultant

Description

The company is seeking a Workday Integration Consultant to join its newly established People Technology team as it transitions to Workday following a major global implementation. This role will be instrumental in supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and enhancing Workday integrations, ensuring reliable data flows across the HR ecosystem and supporting the ongoing optimisation of Workday.

The consultant will act as a key technical resource during Hypercare and ongoing post-go-live support phases. They will collaborate closely with HR Operations, Payroll, IT, and Finance to translate business requirements into technical architectural solutions, while also establishing and maintaining rigorous technical documentation and governance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, test, deploy, and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, Workday Orchestrate, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs), and Core Connectors (configured both standalone/outside and within the Cloud Connect).
  • Establish sound, sustainable integration architecture decisions and design standards that balance immediate business needs with long-term system health, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Own and support daily integration operations, monitor performance, track process runs, and proactively resolve failures.
  • Ensure data accuracy, privacy, and regulatory compliance across all integrated enterprise systems.
  • Create and continuously update technical design specifications, integration mapping documents, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Establish monitoring and support standards for integration operations to ensure clean knowledge sharing and seamless handover across team members.
  • Support audit, compliance, and security requirements related to employee data.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on complex integration failures and implement permanent corrective and preventive fixes.
  • Coordinate technical support activities with Workday Support, implementation partners, and third-party vendors.
  • Collaborate closely with HR Operations, Payroll, IT, Finance, and business leaders to translate business requirements into technical architectural solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data flows, reduce technical debt, and improve process automation.
  • Support testing and validation activities for bi-annual Workday releases, updates, and new platform functionality.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of hands-on, production-level Workday integration design, development, architecture, and support experience (required).
  • Practical experience designing, building, and troubleshooting Workday Studio (required).
  • Hands-on experience developing visual orchestration flows using Workday Orchestrate (required).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs) (required).
  • Proven experience configuring, customizing, and managing Core Connectors both within and outside the Cloud Connect framework (required).
  • Proven track record of making sound, long-term architectural decisions for enterprise integration ecosystems (required).
  • Strong commitment to maintaining rigorous, high-quality technical documentation and system design specs (required).
  • Proficiency with XML, XSLT, Web Services, and data transformation concepts (required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, HRIS, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) (required).
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills (required).
  • Official Workday Integration Certification(s) (nice-to-have).
  • Experience architecting and supporting Workday integrations in a multi-country / global environment (nice-to-have).
  • Knowledge of integration touchpoints within Workday platform, Identity Management systems, enterprise ERPs (e.g., SAP/Oracle), and global payroll platforms (PECI) but also familiarity with Workday Payroll Exports (PICOF) (nice-to-have).
  • Prior experience working in post-go-live stabilization, hypercare, and long-term optimization phases (nice-to-have).
