AI R&D Engineer
Wazdan is looking for an AI R&D Engineer who is curious about the practical applications of artificial intelligence beyond the hype. The role involves experimenting, understanding how things work, and turning ideas into working prototypes. The successful candidate will be driven by a desire to find out if things will work.
This position is within the IT department and focuses on exploring how AI can solve real internal problems and improve workflows. The engineer will experiment with machine learning, neural networks, and language models, build small prototypes, and evaluate their performance. The role also involves working with data, training and testing models, and investigating their results. Connecting AI experiments with existing applications, APIs, and tools will be a key part of the job, as will comparing different approaches to decide which ideas are worth developing further. Identifying when AI is not the right solution and learning about the security, privacy, and practical challenges of using AI in a company environment are also important aspects. Sharing discoveries with the team is expected.
- Explore how AI can solve real internal problems and improve workflows.
- Experiment with machine learning, neural networks and language models.

- Basic understanding of machine learning, neural networks and language models (required).
- Ability to program in Python and experience with AI/ML tools or frameworks (required).
- Understanding of the basics of working with data and evaluating model results (required).
- Curiosity, an analytical approach, and a desire to understand the mechanisms behind how the solutions you create work (required).
- Eagerness to explore new topics - investigate, test, and learn rather than leaving questions unanswered (required).
- Experience with tools and technologies like PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, LLMs, local models, RAG or AI integrations (nice-to-have).
