Financial Accountant
evoke plc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join the UK Finance team. This role plays a key part in supporting the preparation of the Group’s interim and annual financial statements, managing critical aspects of the month-end close process, and preparing statutory accounts for entities across the Group.
The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining robust financial controls and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting. They support the delivery of high-quality financial information that meets both internal and external reporting requirements. A significant element of the role involves supporting the Group audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and maintaining key financial models relating to going concern assessments, provisions, and impairment reviews. The role also contributes to strengthening and embedding a strong financial control environment across the business.
- Supporting the preparation of interim and annual consolidated financial statements, statutory accounts, and audit deliverables, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
- Managing key Group financial reporting models, including going concern, provisions, and impairment assessments, maintaining accuracy, robustness, and documentation.
- Supporting the preparation of Audit Committee papers, and providing high-quality financial analysis.
- Reviewing month-end close activities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting across the Group.
- Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and analysing financial results to identify, investigate, and explain significant variances.
- Driving continuous improvements in financial reporting processes, systems, controls, and governance to enhance efficiency and best practice.
- Strengthening the Group's internal control environment by supporting compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with Finance teams, Shared Services, and wider business stakeholders to provide technical accounting guidance and support strategic business initiatives.
- A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience and an excellent background in financial reporting (required).
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and financial accounting principles, gained through experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role within a UK-based organisation (required).
- Experience within multi-entity and/or international business environments, with experience in listed or regulated organisations considered advantageous (preferred).
