Backend Developer - Design & Math
The Backend Developer will be responsible for developing the backend and mathematical models for Game in the Box solutions. This includes the implementation of game logic, computational systems, and integration with other system components.
The role involves maintaining and developing game designs, implementing new game-related functionalities, and preparing and executing unit and integration tests. The developer will also design game functionalities in accordance with licensing regulations and create project and technical documentation.
Collaboration with project teams and developers is key for the integration and implementation of game projects. The position requires conceptualising and implementing new game projects within defined requirements and constraints, verifying the correctness of game designs, and analysing game-related data to identify new mechanics and industry trends. Evaluating game performance after deployment and conducting analyses to detect irregularities are also part of the responsibilities.
- Developing the backend and mathematical models for Game in the Box solutions, including implementation of game logic, computational systems, and integration with other system components.

- Conducting analyses to detect irregularities and proposing corrective solutions.
- 2–3 years of commercial backend development experience (e.g. Java/Kotlin/TypeScript/Node.js or C#) (required)
- Strong mathematical skills, including a solid understanding of probability, statistics, and algorithms (required)
- Mathematical intuition and the ability to build, run, and interpret simulation results (required)
- Hands-on experience with unit and integration testing (required)
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working in agile, cross-functional teams (required)
- Good command of English (written and spoken) (required)
- Genuine passion for games and commitment to delivering high-quality software (required)
- Experience with backend development for online casino / iGaming products (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with video slot mechanics and slot math models (RTP, volatility, hit frequency, pay tables) (nice-to-have)
- Experience designing game mechanics or mathematical models for games (nice-to-have)
- Ability to test and validate mathematical outcomes using MS Excel, programming, and proprietary tools to guarantee accuracy and quality (nice-to-have)
- Understanding of Docker and containerisation (nice-to-have)
- Understanding of licensing and regulatory requirements in regulated gaming markets (nice-to-have)
