Animator
Aristocrat is seeking a skilled and dedicated Animator to join its dynamic Art and Graphics team. This role is central to the mission of delivering world-class visual experiences across various gaming platforms, including mobile and web environments.
The successful candidate will work alongside a team of artists, designers, and developers to ensure the flawless creation of character animations, game trailers, FX, and promotional videos. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to projects that entertain millions of players worldwide.
- Build outstanding animations that answer the brief and explore creative concepts fully.
- Ensure high-quality work with excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborate proactively with team members and collaborators across the business.
- Coordinate work and files to maintain a clean asset pipeline.
- Continuously develop technical understanding of tools like Photoshop, Spine, and Pixi.js.
- Grasp the technical opportunities and limitations within mobile and web game environments.
- Optimize assets for specific games following the established asset pipeline.
- Stay updated with advances in animation and game art.
- Present work and ideas for comment and review.
- Manage time effectively, prioritising tasks appropriately.
- Innovate and encourage with a passion for animation.
- Work collaboratively with distributed team and studio leads for status updates and mentorship.
- Participate in after-business-hours calls as required.
- At least 4 years of experience in 2D animation work (required)
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for crafting and editing animation frames (required)
- Strong hands-on experience with Spine for skeletal 2D animation (required)
- Experience with Texture Packer for crafting and optimizing sprite sheets (required)
- Familiarity with Pixi.js Text Style Editor for in-game text styles (required)
- Experience with Pixi.js Particles Editor for crafting particle effects (required)
- Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, After Effects) (nice-to-have)
- Experience animating symbols, backgrounds, and FX for casino or mobile games (nice-to-have)
- Experience with the Pixi.js framework in game development (nice-to-have)
- Knowledge of multi-platform asset optimization for mobile and web (nice-to-have)
- Experience working in agile methodology with Scrum framework (preferred)
- Solid portfolio showcasing 2D animation projects featured in released game titles (nice-to-have)
