Tax Manager, EMEA

Description

Aristocrat is looking for a skilled EMEA Tax Manager to support tax compliance, reporting, and operational tax matters across the region. The role involves overseeing direct and indirect tax filings, supporting tax provisioning processes, and coordinating with global finance and tax teams to ensure adherence to local regulations.

The Tax Manager will partner with Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Treasury departments, as well as external advisers, to provide practical advice on business initiatives. This position is suited for a candidate with an operational approach and strong organisational skills who can contribute to the integrity and efficiency of tax operations within a fast-paced, global organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation and submission of direct and indirect tax filings across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, working closely with in-country finance teams and external advisors.
  • Coordinate tax compliance processes, including return review and audit support, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and internal policies.
  • Support the preparation of tax provisions for EMEA entities in accordance with local GAAP and/or IFRS, ensuring alignment with global reporting timelines and standards.
  • Assist with operational tax matters such as withholding taxes, VAT compliance, tax registrations, and tax audits or inquiries from local tax authorities.
  • Work closely with global tax and finance teams to implement procedures and drive consistency and efficiency across tax processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date tax compliance calendars and documentation, ensuring robust control and risk management.
  • Find opportunities for automation and process improvement within the compliance and provisioning cycles.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal collaborators and external consultants on EMEA tax compliance matters.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years’ experience in corporate tax compliance gained within a multinational organisation or Big 4/public accounting environment. (required)
  • Professional qualification in Tax, Accounting, or Finance (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA). (preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge of EMEA direct and indirect tax rules, reporting obligations and tax accounting standards. (required)
  • Experience in Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE tax products, or similar technology. (nice-to-have)
  • Familiarity with tax compliance in the technology, SaaS, or software development industries. (nice-to-have)
  • Previous delivery of operational improvements through automation, data analytics, large language models, or other new technologies/tools. (nice-to-have)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. (required)
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively across borders and time zones. (required)
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. (required)
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. (required)
