Software Engineering Team Lead (iOS)
As an iOS Team Lead within Mobile Infrastructure, you will define the mobile strategy, mentor your team, and enhance developer experience, architecture, and CI/CD tools. You will foster collaboration and continuous learning to empower engineering teams delivering global products and lead by example to inspire technical excellence and foster a culture focused on continuous learning and team growth.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of iOS engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Own the execution of the iOS Infrastructure technical roadmap, ensuring the platform, tooling, and shared components empower the wider iOS engineering team to deliver quality features quickly.
- Provide technical guidance and conduct code reviews across the codebase, ensuring software quality and adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions across our shared iOS infrastructure - including modularization, dependency injection, and build tooling - while considering scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Principal Engineers, Android and Backend teams, and Software Engineers in Test.
- Act as an enabler for the wider engineering organization by providing the tools, frameworks, and technical foundations teams need to deliver effectively.
- Support the team in complex problem-solving and troubleshooting, offering guidance and expertise where needed.
- Continuously evaluate and improve development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity.
- Mentor and coach team members, promoting skill development, technical growth, and career progression.
- Ensure code quality, maintainability, and documentation by setting and enforcing coding standards.
- Identify and mitigate project and technical risks, proactively addressing challenges and bottlenecks.
- 3+ years of experience in a formal leadership or team management role, with the ability to guide, mentor, and motivate a team while owning career development and performance reviews (required)
- Proven experience as an iOS Engineer with a strong track record of successful mobile development projects (required)
- Strong technical expertise in Swift, solid understanding of iOS frameworks, build systems, and design patterns (required)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (required)
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) (required)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (required)
- Knowledge of software design patterns, mobile architecture, and app scalability (required)
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and project management tools (Jira/Confluence) (required)
- A demonstrated AI-first mindset, actively leveraging AI tools and assistants to improve productivity, problem-solving, and decision-making (required)
