Compliance Specialist (Client Onboarding)
Betby is looking for a Compliance Specialist with experience in KYC/KYB reviews to join the KYC Compliance Team. In this role, the individual will support the onboarding of B2B clients and play an important part in the continued growth of the global client portfolio while ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and industry standards.
Working closely with the KYC Compliance Team Lead, the Compliance Specialist will manage client onboarding processes, conduct due diligence reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate an efficient onboarding process without compromising compliance standards.
- Conduct KYC/KYB and CDD reviews for new B2B clients in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and any applicable regulatory requirements.
- Assess corporate structures, management, ownership and control, review documentation, and other due diligence information as part of the onboarding process.
- Prepare, maintain and update detailed client profiles, ensuring accurate and complete records throughout the client lifecycle.
- Perform research using public registries, corporate databases, and other reliable sources to verify corporate and individual information.
- Conduct PEP, Sanctions, and Adverse Media screening, documenting findings and assessing potential compliance risks.
- Participate in periodic KYC/KYB reviews and ensure client records remain accurate and up to date.
- Identify, assess, and escalate potential compliance risks, red flags, or complex cases to the KYC Compliance Team Lead where appropriate.
- Work closely with the Commercial, Legal, and other internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient onboarding experience while maintaining compliance requirements.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of onboarding processes, procedures, and internal documentation.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy, confidentiality, documentation and professional communication.
- Support colleagues within the Compliance and Legal Team with onboarding-related matters and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
- 1-3 years of experience in KYC, KYB, Client Onboarding, Corporate Due Diligence roles within the iGaming, Payments or Fintech industries (required).
- Good understanding of KYC, KYB, Customer Due Diligence, PEP, Sanctions, and Adverse Media screening principles (required).
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail (required).
- Ability to review international corporate documents and complex structures (required).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple onboarding cases simultaneously and identify priorities (required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across different teams (required).
- Professional, proactive, and client-oriented approach with a high level of integrity and ethical awareness (required).
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively within a team environment (required).
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken) (required).
- Fluency in Spanish (nice-to-have).
- Professional certifications such as ICA, CAMS, or equivalent (nice-to-have).
