Description

The company is looking for a lawyer to join the team in Riga. The role involves providing legal support across various corporate and intellectual property matters within an international context.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments, including Finance, to ensure regulatory compliance and effective legal strategy. The position requires a proactive approach to managing legal documentation and advising management on legislative changes.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on corporate law matters and governance structures across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain corporate documentation as may be required from time to time.
  • Support corporate reorganizations, incorporations, and dissolutions from time to time.
  • Draft intra-group agreements (e.g., service agreements, license agreements etc) and documentation attributable to performance of intra-group agreements.
  • Cooperate with Finance team in the development and implementation of transfer pricing policies, be the stakeholder of transfer pricing documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international TP rules (OECD guidelines, local reporting requirements).
  • Oversee registration, protection, and enforcement of trademarks, copyrights, and other IP rights.
  • Advise on IP strategy and risks in relation to the software, technology and brand portfolio, where necessary ensure fixation of the intellectual property object ownership rights.
  • Coordinating and liaising with internal and external counterparties.
  • Within the scope of the above issues - monitoring applicable national legislation changes and advise management on their impact, perform legal research as may be necessary from time to time.
  • Provide proactive legal advice on a wide range of issues.
Requirements
  • Hold a University Degree in Law (required).
  • Demonstrate fluency in Latvian and English, as they serve as the primary language for daily work tasks, particularly in document preparation (required).
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing, tax law concepts and intercompany structures (required).
  • Experience with intellectual property matters in an international context (required).
  • Previous experience in the IT, Sportsbetting, Fintech, Gaming industries, Tax advisory will be considered a plus (nice-to-have).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across jurisdictions in a fast-paced environment (required).
  • Ability to coordinate and work collaboratively with internal and external contacts on a daily basis (required).
  • Excellent negotiation, and analytical skills (required).
  • Excellent knowledge of standard MS Office applications (required).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and pragmatic approach (required).
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented (required).
