Python CI/CD Engineer
The company is looking for a CI/CD Engineer to join the team. This role involves assessing current processes, suggesting improvements, and collaborating across infrastructure and application code to help maintain smooth, stable releases.
The successful candidate will focus on optimising delivery workflows and ensuring the reliability of the deployment pipeline. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and a strong commitment to automation.
- Design, debug, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for speed, reliability, and maintainability.
- Diagnose and resolve build failures, flaky tests, and deployment issues.
- Automate secret management and rotation across environments.
- Integrate pipelines with external systems (GitLab, cloud providers, Kubernetes, third-party APIs).
- Develop and maintain automation tooling, primarily in Python.
- Dive into existing Python codebases to understand current CI/CD workflows and fix issues at the source.
- Contribute to product code when necessary to unblock releases or improve delivery processes.
- Monitor pipeline performance and systematically eliminate bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with developers and infrastructure engineers to refine build, test, and deployment workflows.
- Excellent Python skills and ability to work effectively in large, unfamiliar codebases (required).
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms, preferably GitLab CI (required).
- Proven ability to debug complex pipeline and deployment issues end-to-end (required).
- Experience with secret management systems (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) (required).
- Solid understanding of REST and/or GraphQL APIs (required).
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) (required).
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) (required).
- Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible, Helm) (nice-to-have).
- Shell scripting skills (nice-to-have).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Loki) (nice-to-have).
- Experience with asynchronous Python (nice-to-have).
- Background in build and deployment optimization (nice-to-have).
