Platform Core DevOps Engineer - Infra
The Platform Core team is responsible for managing Infrastructure as Code for parts of the Core Platform Layer, including Kubernetes Clusters, Message Broker backends, and Infrastructure tooling. This role provides a distributed runtime platform that ensures optimal performance of business web applications, APIs, and backend services.
The position involves building infrastructure platforms as self-service for developers, providing guidance and tooling to enable them to self-manage their applications across environments.
There is a focus on strengthening the management of the Container Platform and Kafka Messaging Platform. The engineer will continuously improve and develop these platforms based on business needs, analysing, diagnosing, and solving issues of efficiency, performance, and scale in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code for parts of the Core Platform Layer (Kubernetes Clusters, Message Broker backends, Infrastructure tooling).
- Provide a distributed runtime platform that ensures optimal performance of business web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Build infrastructure platforms as self-service to developers.
- Provide guidance and tooling for developers to self-manage their applications cross environments.
- Continuously improve and develop platforms based on business needs.
- Analyse, diagnose, and solve issues of efficiency, performance, and scale.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues from different teams.
- Required to be on an On-call support schedule.
- Strong knowledge and experience in setting up and administering Kubernetes clusters (required).
- Preferably with experience with AWS EKS and Rancher RKE (preferred).
- Strong knowledge and experience of managing Kafka infrastructure in a geo-distributed setup, administration, and configuration of such service (required).
- Managing Cloud Infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a good understanding of terraform modules and workflows (required).
- Experience working with cloud providers, with AWS as preference (preferred).
- Strong knowledge with Cloud provider services such as EC2, ALBs, VPC, and EKS (required).
- Experience in building scalable and distributed infrastructure (required).
- Experience in using versioned source control to manage code changes (required).
- Familiarity with the open-source monitoring stack of Prometheus/Grafana (required).
- Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, Powershell or similar (required).
- Experience in using and managing Linux distributions (required).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner (required).
- Knowledge of best practices in IT operations, such as ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and DevOps principles (required).
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment (required).
