Risk Behavioural Analyst

Description

As our Risk Behaviour analyst, you’ll be supporting the delivery in mitigating potential losses for the business associated with promotional, marketing, and gameplay strategies across both the casino and sports segments. This will help us excel at proactively identifying casino and sports behavioural traits that could result in suspicious activity, advantage play and fraud to stay. Your drive and ideas will help us move faster, improve smarter, and stay ahead of the game.

Responsibilities
  • Detect and identify customers displaying behaviour which fall in line with gameplay profitability strategies.
  • Detect and identify behaviour trends across accounts, using all metrics available to identify fraud group activity.
  • Investigate accounts and take the appropriate action.
  • Ensure that adequate preventative and detective strategies are in place to mitigate loss.
  • Compile fraud group profiles, put measures in place to mitigate and communicate across the Department for detection.
  • Suggest / Recommend new or improvement to rules or processes within the aimed at detecting fraudulent activity.
  • Understand the workings of all games.
  • Keep the department abreast of game features that present a potential risk.
  • Continuous monitoring of profitability of games.
  • Escalation of game malfunctions.
  • Review of new affiliate signups.
  • Monitor and analyse affiliate traffic and revenue to detect any irregularities.
  • Alert key stakeholders to affiliate profitability concerns.
  • Compile impact analysis on all groups to monitor group activity.
  • Group activity reporting and compilation of Internal SARS.
  • Maintain accurate records of tasks and results with a focus on achievements and efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly reporting for submission to key stake holders.
  • Staying abreast of and be the expert on industry changes in regards to both software and promotions.
  • Construction of rules to proactively reduce the risk of advantage gameplay to the business.
  • Conduct impact analysis across each Sports and Casino group/syndicate to monitor and assess group-level activity.
  • Understanding Terms & Conditions and recommend changes in line with investigation findings.
  • Monitoring of social media discussions in relation to gameplay profitability strategies.
  • Continuous development, implementation and enhancement of procedures, tools and systems.
  • Ensure Policy and Process documents are up to date and stored for reference.
  • Ensure that “cheat sheets” are compiled and available for reference.
  • Be aware of and understand the Regulatory requirements pertaining to the various functions of the daily tasks.
  • To maintain and meet current SLA’s.
  • Adhoc projects.
Requirements
  • Clear, confident communication (written and verbal), and the ability to breakdown complex ideas (required).
  • A collaborative mindset, working smoothly with cross‑functional teams to hit shared goals (required).
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects without dropping the ball with a track record of delivering on time and within scope (required).

  • Adaptability – you stay sharp, productive and positive in fast‑moving environments to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations (required).
  • A good understanding of the Risk Environment (methodology, systems & technology) (required).
  • A good understanding of Risk exposure in Sports betting (required).
  • A very good understanding of Casino Games (required).
  • Advanced to Power User level skills in Ms Office Excel (required).
  • Consistent behaviour aligned to the Organizational Culture (required).
  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends (preferred).
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations (preferred).
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards (preferred).
  • Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI and Elastic Search (preferred).
  • An advanced understanding of Casino Promotion Setup and Terms and Conditions (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of fundamentals and configurations of Sports Betting / Trading (preferred).
  • Good knowledge of how fraud groups operate (preferred).
  • Exposure to Affiliate Management (preferred).
  • Ability to identify, analyse and report on trends (preferred).
  • A good understanding of market-specific regulatory requirements (preferred).
