Quant Risk Analyst

Description

Hacksaw Markets is a B2B prediction-market platform that operators can use to offer prediction markets under their own brands. Every operator has a credit line, and every market creates exposure. In this Quant Risk Analyst role, the individual will own the quantitative methods that protect the platform without immobilising more capital than necessary, working directly with the Risk desk, Settlement, Operators, and operations engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Own margin and collateral methodology for binary contracts across operators.
  • Build stress tests for correlated outcomes, large market volumes, data failures and counterparty stress.
  • Set and review position limits and accountability levels for market makers with a versioned history.
  • Calibrate the thresholds that determine how many approvals are required before funds move.
  • Turn quantitative methodology into specifications that engineers can implement.
Requirements
  • Quantitative risk experience in an exchange, clearing house, sportsbook or trading firm (required).
  • Hands-on work with margin, stress testing, collateral or credit (required).
  • Strong Python or R and SQL skills, plus comfort with probability and correlated binary outcomes (required).
  • The ability to explain a model to non-quantitative leaders and regulatory stakeholders (required).
  • Fluent English and strong written documentation (required).
Benefits
  • A genuine build-stage mandate with direct influence over product, operating model and culture.
  • An ambitious team supported by established technology, operating experience and long-term capital.
  • The opportunity to help create trusted infrastructure for a category moving rapidly into the mainstream.
