General Ledger Accountant
As a General Ledger Accountant, the individual is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the general ledger accounts for the various entities within Entain Belgium. Working alongside the Accounting and Tax teams, the role involves month-end closings, reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and tax compliance to ensure that financial reporting is reliable and in line with legal requirements.
The position requires a structured and rigorous approach to work, with the ability to operate both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will support the broader finance function in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency.
- Carry out monthly and annual closing activities, including accounting entries, accrued liabilities and reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Tax team on the preparation of direct and indirect tax matters, including VAT and corporation tax returns.
- Provide support to the Accounts Payable team with regard to procurement.
- Assist the Accounting team with day-to-day cash flow management.
- Support the Accounting team in monitoring payroll through to its integration into the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly analyses of balance sheet accounts, cost centres and variances identified.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent professional experience (required).
- Good knowledge of accounting/ERP and BI systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Power BI (required).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel including formulas and pivot tables (required).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, as well as in French or Dutch (required).
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting and taxation (required).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (required).

- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team (required).
- Full-time contract of 38 hours per week.
