Platform Engineer II
As a Platform Engineer II, the successful candidate will lead the design, automation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure systems that support Entain products and services. The role involves ensuring the platform is robust, reliable, and capable of meeting high demand.
Reporting to a Tech Lead, the Platform Engineer II will be part of the Platform Engineering Team. This team is responsible for building and maintaining core infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and an Internal Developer Platform to enable self-service capabilities for development teams. The role requires collaboration with development and operations teams to ensure rapid delivery of high-quality software while maintaining system stability, scalability, and security. Additionally, the engineer will create Agentic AI workflows to accelerate productivity across product and technology departments.
- Build an Internal Developer Platform that provides self-service capabilities for provisioning environments, deploying services, and managing infrastructure.
- Design automated infrastructure using Shell scripting, Python/Java, and Ansible.
- Build and create agentic AI workflows.
- Manage Kubernetes clusters and deploy containerised applications at scale.
- Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions with Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack/Datadog.
- Ensure infrastructure security best practices and maintain clear documentation.
- Collaborate with developers to improve onboarding, service templates, and workflows within the Internal Developer Platform.
- 4–7 years of experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or similar role (required).
- Proven experience in designing or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform or developer productivity tools (required).
- Strong skills in Shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell) and programming (Python or Java) (required).
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD (required).
- Proficiency with Git version control and branching strategies (required).
- Strong AI skills (required).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (ELK/Datadog) (required).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP (required).
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security best practices (required).
