Workplace Health and Safety Intern (WHS)
Evolution is seeking a dedicated intern to support the management of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS). The role involves working under the supervision of the OHSMS manager to ensure compliance with legal regulations and company guidelines.
The intern will play a key role in maintaining safety standards, conducting inspections, and supporting administrative processes related to health and safety. This position is designed for an individual who is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Review contractor documentation.
- Manage contractor entry authorisations, verify H&S documentation and social security affiliations, support their induction, review PPE and entry conditions, and follow up on permits.
- Support checklists for tools, electrical equipment, fire extinguishers, scaffolding, ladders, machinery, first-aid kits, signage, and temporary electrical installations.
- Review the PILA format (social security contributions form).
- Inspect site conditions, orderliness and cleanliness, signage, evacuation routes, and circulation areas; identify unsafe acts and conditions and follow up on findings closure.
- Support the initial reporting of accidents, collect information, photographic records, preliminary interviews, organise evidence, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support the implementation of the Globally Harmonised System (GHS) for chemicals and review safety data sheets (SDS).
- Assist with the preparation and execution of H&S training, inductions for workers and contractors, prevention campaigns, and procedure socialisation.
- Support document verification, visual inspection of equipment and access systems, the use of fall protection PPE, and follow-up on permits and checklists.
- Update matrices and records, consolidate indicators, prepare inspection reports, follow action plans, and keep H&S forms up to date.
- Familiarity with Colombian H&S regulations (Decree 1072 of 2015 and Resolution 0312 of 2019) (required)
- Basic knowledge for hazard identification and risk assessment (IPER matrix) (required)
