Description

The People Operations Manager, UK serves as the in-country representative for the People team at Genius Sports. This role involves working with colleagues and managers across the entire employee lifecycle, with a primary focus on operational excellence, compliance, engagement, and wellbeing.

As part of a team of People Operations Managers, the individual will collaborate with the wider People team to cultivate a unified company philosophy. The role requires applying subject matter expertise regarding the UK cultural and legislative landscape to all aspects of the employee experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end operational delivery of the employment experience, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, and cyclical processes such as pay reviews and performance management.
  • Oversee day-to-day payroll processing and benefits enrolment in coordination with providers and finance colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and controls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective new ways of working.
  • Contribute to the development and application of company People policies and provide market insight to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Support managers in developing leadership capabilities and driving sustainable high performance.
  • Coach and advise staff to improve performance and resolve issues.
  • Drive local initiatives to improve employee engagement, talent retention, and learning and development.
  • Handle individual and collective employee relations issues, including disciplinary matters, grievances, absence management, and terminations.
  • Maintain UK People data integrity and coach local stakeholders on effective data usage.
  • Lead the effective use of Workday and other HR systems.
  • Manage local People documentation and process joiners, leavers, and job changes.
  • Act as the People team lead on UK-oriented programmes such as payroll governance, benefits renewals, M&A integrations, and global engagement campaigns.
Requirements
  • Ownership of People Operations processes in a global organisation (required)
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, maturing organisation (required)
  • Experience working with managers to troubleshoot and develop pragmatic solutions to People-related matters (required)
  • End-to-end experience of the People operations lifecycle, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, and job changes (required)
  • Experience working as part of a global HR team (preferred)
  • Knowledge of working with HRIS systems, specifically Workday (preferred)
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to gain the trust of stakeholders (required)
  • Awareness of country-specific legislative and cultural nuances (required)
  • Experience working with diverse workforces and an appreciation of differing motivators (required)
  • Passion for operational excellence and creating great employee experiences through technology (nice-to-have)
