Senior Software Engineer (Architecture Focus)
This is not a typical Senior Software Engineer role. The company is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated professional who can think architecturally, challenge technical decisions, and help drive technical direction, while remaining hands-on in day-to-day development.
Working closely with the Head of Development, DevOps Engineer, and Senior Developers, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping system architecture, improving engineering practices, and building scalable, high-performance solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and systems using Laravel (PHP) and Vue.js.
- Contribute to and help drive architectural decisions, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Work with distributed systems and modern architectures, including queues, Kafka, and event-driven patterns.
- Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and overall platform stability.
- Mentor and support developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and design reviews.
- Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams on infrastructure-related initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Promote engineering best practices, clean code standards, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
- 5-8+ Years experience in software engineering (required)
- Strong experience in system design and architecture (required)
- Solid backend development experience with Laravel or similar frameworks (required)
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (required)
- Experience with distributed systems and queue-based architectures (required)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is considered an advantage (nice-to-have)
- Strong ownership mindset and excellent problem-solving skills (required)
- A quick learner who is passionate about technology and takes initiative to self-learn when needed (required)
- Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English (required)
- Experience with PHP (Laravel) and Vue.js, MySQL, NoSQL (required)
- Experience with Kafka and queue systems (required)
- Experience with Kubernetes and Dockers (required)
