Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)
Sportradar is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Managed Trading Services (MTS) team. MTS is the platform behind Sportradar's risk betting management, processing millions of bets in real time for operators globally. The teams within MTS own high-throughput, low-latency services such as risk and liability, odds and offer, ticket validation, and the data plane that supports them.
The role operates within a modern cloud-native stack, utilising technologies like Java (Spring Boot / Quarkus), Kafka / MSK, gRPC & Protobuf, AWS (EKS, ECS, DynamoDB, Aurora), ArgoCD / GitOps, and Terraform, with observability provided by Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
This position offers an opportunity to level up by shipping real features to production quickly, learning a rich domain, and growing to own larger parts of the system. The engineer will design, build, test, and ship backend services and APIs within a real-time system, delivering in small, independently shippable increments. Ownership extends to production, including monitoring, alerting, and occasional on-call duties. The role also involves writing clean, well-tested, documented code, participating in code reviews, and capturing key decisions. Learning the MTS ecosystem and growing independence in decision-making is encouraged. Collaboration with product managers and senior engineers to shape requirements into deliverable work is key, alongside the use of modern, AI-assisted development for spec-driven, agentic workflows.
