Senior Controllership Specialist
The Manila Finance Shared Service Center handles various Finance processes of 888, William Hill and Mr. Green legal entities across different locations such as Accounts Payable, Treasury, Reconciliations, Journals, Taxation and Financial Reporting.
The role is focused on preparing, creating, and posting journals for approval, and verifying the accuracy and completeness of financial data. It involves maintaining organised records of reconciliation activities, generating and closing general ledger, AR and AP reports for management review, and uploading ERP trial balance to consolidation software or systems.
Key responsibilities include performing Balance Sheet and TB reconciliations, assisting in the preparation of accurate and timely statutory and consolidated financial statements and disclosures, and collaborating with other regions to support Group consolidation processes. The role also requires knowledge in ad hoc technical accounting issues, preparing technical accounting work papers for audit, and presenting them to management. Additionally, it involves supporting internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation and acting as a liaison officer to external auditors.
Ad hoc responsibilities include ensuring appropriate continuous professional development, keeping abreast of internal, legislative, and industry best practices, and ensuring appropriate interpretation and implementation of required changes in a timely manner.
- Prepare, create, and post journals and submit for approval.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data, ensuring transactions are recorded appropriately.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date records of reconciliation activities, including supporting documentation and evidence.
- Generate and close general ledger, AR and AP reports to review with management.
- Upload ERP trial balance to consolidation software or system.
- Perform Balance Sheet and TB reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely statutory and consolidated financial statements and disclosures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements by collaborating across functions.
- Collaborate with other regions to support the needs of the Group consolidation processes.
- Provide knowledge in a variety of ad hoc technical accounting issues, preparing technical accounting work papers, and presenting these for audit and to management.
- Support all internal and external audit activities through the provision of required documentation, attendance of necessary meetings and being a key liaison officer to the external auditors.
- Ensure appropriate continuous professional development, keeping abreast of all internal, legislative, and industry best practice.
- Ensure appropriate interpretation and implementation of required changes in a timely manner.
- Graduate of Accountancy or accounting-related course (required).
- CPA with 5+ years of accounting and audit experience (required).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data (required).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to solve complex accounting issues (required).
- Proficiency in financial reporting tools and software (e.g. Excel, ERP Systems) (required).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders (required).

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines (required).
