Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer
888 is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer who combines strong engineering fundamentals with an AI-enabled approach to software development. The role involves designing, building, and operating production-grade applications using C#/.NET and Node.js/TypeScript on the backend, alongside React/TypeScript on the frontend.
This is a senior hands-on position where the successful candidate will influence technical decisions, improve engineering practices, mentor other developers, and take ownership of features from design through to production. A key expectation is strong proficiency with AI-assisted development tools, which should be integrated into the everyday workflow for tasks such as designing solutions, writing and reviewing code, debugging, and documentation.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full-stack applications.
- Build robust backend services and APIs using C#/.NET and Node.js/TypeScript.
- Develop modern user experiences using React and TypeScript.
- Own features and services from technical design through production.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions balancing quality, scalability, security, and speed.
- Diagnose complex technical and production issues.
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
- Mentor engineers and raise standards through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Platform, and other engineering teams.
- Use modern AI coding assistants, agents, and LLM-based development tools as part of the daily workflow.
- Apply AI across design, implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and code review.
- Use AI to automate repetitive engineering work and increase development throughput.
- Provide effective context and instructions that enable AI tools to work with complex codebases.
- Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Experiment with new AI engineering tools and share effective practices with the wider team.
- Experienced full-stack engineer who remains strongly hands-on (required)
- Deep expertise in at least one area of the stack and ability to work confidently across others (required)
- Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into pragmatic technical solutions (required)
- Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET (required)
- Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript (required)
- Strong experience with React and modern frontend development (required)
- Experience designing APIs and distributed backend services (required)
- Strong knowledge of software design principles and engineering best practices (required)
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (required)
- Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing (required)
- Experience with CI/CD, cloud environments, containers, observability, and production operations (required)
- Good understanding of application security and performance (required)
- Experience with high-scale distributed systems, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, developer tooling, or production LLM/AI integrations (nice-to-have)
