Head of Commercial (Merchant Sales & Portfolio Growth)
FlintN is looking for a Head of Commercial (Merchant Sales & Portfolio Growth) to join their team, which is building and scaling an all-in-one payment platform for online businesses. The role has a strong growth focus, involving product development, testing, and integrations aimed at building a global payment platform.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading the commercial function. This includes new merchant acquisition across the EU, UK, US, UA, and LATAM. The role also encompasses managing the lead generation process through outbound efforts, partnerships, ISV and platform channels, and events. Furthermore, the position involves overseeing the Account Management function, focusing on retention, expansion, processed-volume growth, and the authorisation-rate value delivered to merchants. Developing commercial processes, including ICP, playbooks, pricing discipline, and CRM hygiene, is also a key responsibility. Forecasting of sales and growth in turnover, as well as hiring and coaching as the function grows, are essential. The role also requires fulfilling platform growth commitments and targets.
- Build and lead the commercial function.
- New merchant acquisition across the EU, UK, US, UA and LATAM.

- Fulfil platform growth commitments and targets.
- Fintech understanding, auth-rate and routing narrative, writing playbooks (required).
- Interchange and scheme economics, bank/acquirer relationships, pricing understanding (required).
- Proven experience building pipeline/function from scratch; can name the first touch, the first playbook, the first hire (required).
- Understanding of orchestration levers; auth-rate diagnosis; current VAMP thresholds; MID/acquirer landscape (required).
- Knowledge of subscription metrics (MRR, involuntary churn, dunning), SaaS-merchant understanding (required).
- Experience with retention, expansion, QBRs, portfolio metrics, TPV growth (required).
- Merchant sales or general B2B sales understanding (required).
- Experience self-sourcing and closing complex merchant deals; holds a price floor (required).
- Ability to treat risk as commercial design; knows what they would decline (required).
- Experience hiring, coaching, and correcting mis-hires (required).
