Head of Data and Analytics

Description

As the Head of Analytics & Data, you will own and run the Data & Analytics function day-to-day, working closely with the Director of Analytics & Data to translate strategy into delivery and help Catena Media harness the power of data for informed decision-making and strategic planning.

YOUR CHALLENGE: Own day-to-day delivery of the Data & Analytics strategy - partnering with the Director to shape it, translating it into an actionable roadmap, and leading the multidisciplinary team and its prioritisation.

Collaborate with key stakeholders across Financial Analysis, Business Operations, Marketing, Product and Commercial to ensure the analytics you lead support business objectives.

Partner with wider tech to own the click-side tracking we control - campaign tagging taxonomy, sub-ID / tracking-token generation and propagation, server-side GTM and consent - ensuring our tracking token survives the handoff to the operator.

Partner with wider tech to own ingestion and integration of operator-reported conversion and revenue data arriving through mixed channels (S2S postbacks, affiliate-platform feeds, APIs and manual / CSV exports), normalising varied schemas, granularity and timing into one trusted model.

Build attribution that bridges click-side signals with delayed, operator-reported conversions, and own reconciliation against operator figures (FTDs, NDCs, NGR, commissions) as the revenue source of truth.

Model channel and deal performance across CPA, rev-share and hybrid arrangements - managing reporting latency between leading and confirmed figures - and translate it into recommendations that shift marketing investment.

Proactively surface insight that changes decisions, challenging assumptions with evidence and supporting experimentation / A-B testing rather than only servicing reporting requests.

Implement self-service reporting and Generative BI so business users can answer their own questions and define company-wide metrics with executives and stakeholders.

Oversee data architecture, models, lakes and warehouses; champion AI / ML and Generative AI use cases; and ensure data quality through documented remediation of discrepancies.

Head the selection of BI solutions and manage day-to-day vendor relationships, working with PMO on adoption and Information Security on data-related risk.

Leadership and team management responsibilities: Managing team performance effectively through the practicing of ongoing performance management, including conducting performance reviews and regular 1-1 meetings Leading by example by delivering positive results and being a visible Catena ambassador Communicating effectively and ensuring information is delivered in a clear and timely manner Taking ownership of recruitment and selection for your team by working closely with HR and TA teams Enabling team and individual growth from the induction stage to ongoing learning and development.

Requirements
  • 5+ years in analytics / BI, including 3+ years leading and developing teams at a senior level (required).
  • Strong grasp of the affiliate data model: conversion and revenue data is reported back by operators with delays, inconsistent ingestion methods and limited granularity - with demonstrable experience handling that integration and reconciliation challenge (required).
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing measurement: multi-channel attribution, campaign tracking and tagging, conversion tracking, and the limitations introduced by cookie deprecation, Consent Mode and ITP (required).
  • Proven experience leading BI / Analytics functions and delivering insight that changed business decisions - ideally quantified (required).
  • Hands-on technical depth - SQL and NoSQL databases, data visualisation (Power BI and/or Tableau) - and the appetite to stay close to the data (still able to write SQL, interrogate a model and sanity-check an attribution number) (required).
  • Working knowledge of Python and web analytics tooling such as Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics (required).
  • Excellent communication: able to engage technical teams while articulating complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical and senior stakeholders, including at C-level (required).
