Software Development Engineer III
As an SDE III, the engineer will bring their engineering depth into a new way of working. They will not just write code but will specify, orchestrate, validate, and ship with AI as their primary collaborator. The engineer will work in a small, mission-driven cross-functional team called a pod-three functions (Product, Engineer, Quality) with high agency, shared ownership, and no hand-offs. Reporting to the Tech Lead, they will join the Product & Technology Team.
The role involves delivering against the pod's mission, owning the full software delivery lifecycle including quality, from design through production and measurement. They will operate in continuous flow (Kanban) by pulling work, respecting WIP limits, and shipping daily. AI agents will be used as the primary delivery mechanism for code generation, testing, spec writing, and deployment. The engineer will design, build, and debug software across backend and frontend with distributed systems awareness, and evaluate and tune agent workflows, including steering docs, prompts, rules, and skills. They will write clean, well-tested code and take ownership of quality end-to-end. The role also includes acting as the initial on-call responder, ensuring the health and stability of deployed applications, and mentoring junior developers while contributing to shared tooling, knowledge bases, and the agent foundation kit.
- Deliver against the pod's mission - own the full software delivery lifecycle including quality, from design through production and measurement.

- Strong proficiency in at least one of the following: Java/Spring Boot, Python, .NET, Go, or Angular, with the ability to learn and work with other technologies using AI (required).
- Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, data structures, API design, database concepts, and cloud computing (required).
- Experience with clean code practices, TDD, CI/CD, and version control (required).
- Experience with application monitoring, observability, and production debugging (required).
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architectures (required).
- Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, pair programming, and automated testing (required).
- Experience with agent systems, MCP/tool protocols, or building AI-augmented workflows (required).
- Experience designing evaluation and observability strategies for AI-generated outputs (required).
- Contributions to shared tooling, internal platforms, or open-source projects (nice-to-have).
- Background in industries with strict regulatory requirements, such as gaming, financial services, or healthcare (nice-to-have).
