Software Development Engineer III
Entain is looking for a Java Software Development Engineer III to build software features within back-end or front-end domains. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will join the Product and Technology Team to ensure systematic and efficient development throughout the software development lifecycle.
The role involves delivering moderately complex features and maintaining high standards of code quality. The engineer will play a key role in team collaboration, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to technical process improvements within the organisation.
- Develop and deliver well-defined, moderately complex features.
- Debug and resolve issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code following best practices.
- Manage team meetings and RFC processes for proposing changes and improvements.
- Act as an initial on-call responder for team-managed software.
- Collaborate with team members, support new junior engineers, and mentor Software Engineers.
- Participate in hiring, prioritise intra-team plans, and contribute to process improvements.
- Expert in Java programming with modern language features and frameworks (required).
- 5+ years of experience within distributed architectures (required).
- Experience with frontend framework Angular and Javascript (required).
- Proficient in object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and SQL (required).
- 5+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle, database management, API integration, and modern tools like Swagger (required).
- Adept in application monitoring, logging, version control, and software testing (required).
- Familiar with automation, applications, CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and secure coding practices (required).
- Knowledgeable in Microservices, Event-driven architectures, and Agile Development principles (required).
