Automation Engineer
As an Automation Engineer, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of SkillOnNet by identifying opportunities to replace manual, repetitive tasks with intelligent and scalable automation solutions. The role involves designing end-to-end automation workflows that not only increase operational efficiency but also enhance data accuracy, reduce risk, and support strategic growth.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of both systems and processes. The Automation Engineer will be expected to evaluate and recommend the right tools and technologies, such as RPA platforms, scripting languages, and cloud services, while implementing secure and robust integrations between systems and establishing standards and best practices for automation development and governance.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated systems and solutions for web, mobile and backend applications.
- Identify and analyse business processes suitable for automation using tools such as Python, Power Automate, UiPath, Selenium, or equivalent.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using frameworks such as Playwright and Cucumber.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and optimise existing systems.
- Create and maintain test scripts, software tools, and automated processes using Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assist in the implementation of automation strategies.
- Support manual QA team members in automation adoption.
- Monitor test execution reports and provide quality metrics.
- Document automation processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). (required)
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in automation engineering or related roles. (required)
- Strong proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, and Node.js. (required)
- Hands-on experience with automation frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools. (required)
- Experience with version control systems like Git. (required)
- Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge. (required)
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools. (required)
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. (required)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment. (required)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. (required)
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. (nice-to-have)
