Lead TPM
As a Lead Technical Program Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in reducing the risk and complexity in initiatives that span across multiple teams. They will partner with engineering managers, product managers, and stakeholders to support the delivery of complex change throughout the lifecycle in a product-led organisation.
In addition, the Lead Technical Program Manager will work closely with the VP of Engineering for the area. Working with them to assist in iterating how the area operates overall. This will include problem spaces such as pragmatic delivery tracking, operational excellence and workforce planning.
- Lead large-scale engineering programs from start to finish as a member of the Program Leadership Team.
- Work alongside the EM and PM to form a core team working to deliver on time and actively managing feedback loops and scope throughout.
- Partner with engineering teams, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to align objectives and develop clear execution roadmaps.
- As part of the core team, ensure delivering regular updates and managing expectations around program progress and decisions.
- Identify and address potential risks and dependencies across projects before they impact program goals or timelines.
- Enhance program management practices, tools, and methods to boost team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Guide and mentor junior program managers and engineering teams to build a collaborative, high-performing culture.
- Define and track KPIs for program progress, quality, and timelines, reporting outcomes to senior leadership.
- Mastered project management fundamentals, including scope, schedule, budget, quality management, and risk assessment (required).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, establish efficient processes, and manage complex release schedules (required).
- Extensive experience in technical program management, working directly with software engineering teams (required).
- Strong technical acumen with ability to create and evaluate system-level technical designs (required).
- Track record of developing and implementing successful product and technical roadmaps (required).
- Excellent communication skills required-ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, from engineers to executives (required).
- 10+ years of experience in technical program management (required).
- Demonstrated success in delivering multi-team technology programs at scale (required).
- Thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), product development cycle (PDLC), system design, and cloud architecture in a product led microservice organisation (required).
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities, including experience influencing executive leadership (required).
- Knowledge of planning and tracking of multiple teams in Jira (required).
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven record of leading and influencing outside of direct line management (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (required).
