Super is one of the largest sports betting operators in the region, running a network of over 1,000 locations across multiple geographies and processing more than 22 million bets per month. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join the Player – Transact Tribe, a team with organisation-wide impact and deep connections across multiple engineering areas. In this role, you will help shape systems that power critical functionality across the business and connect multiple engineering domains.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and teams to design and implement scalable, robust software solutions
- Improve the existing platform to increase the amount of business functionality driven by end-user configuration
- Enhance system automation across scale, resiliency, and deployment
- Build and enhance core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) used across the organisation
- Build on the CloudNative platform, enabling greater use of AWS technology to accelerate delivery, scale, and resiliency
- Analyse complex system challenges and drive improvements to architecture, scalability, and platform efficiency
- Drive technical initiatives from concept to execution, influencing decisions and aligning multiple teams
- Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across the wider business to understand and drive improvements across the platform
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
- A minimum of 6 years of hands on experience in a large scale production environment (required)
- Experience engineering high-quality, highly scalable software in any object-oriented or Functional language (required)
- Experience working with distributed systems (required)
- Experience building and improving upon observability (required)
- A passion for clean coding, simple solutions, automated testing, and continuous deployment (required)
- A passion for working in the cloud and automation (required)
- Familiarity with Golang, Erlang, or Elixir (required)
- A user-centric, data driven approach to building solutions (required)
- Willingness to learn new technologies (required)
- Experience in AWS (Cloudformation, MSK, S3, Cognito etc..) (preferred)
- Knowledge of Kafka (preferred)
- An interest in Functional Programming (preferred)
