Senior Compliance Officer

Description

The company is looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to take ownership of regulatory and licensing obligations within the Greek i-gaming market. Sitting within the Compliance function, this role holds primary responsibility for maintaining the Greek i-gaming licence, ensuring ongoing regulatory adherence, and leading compliance initiatives across the business.

The position plays a senior, independent role in translating complex regulatory requirements into clear operational guidance, whilst driving responsible gaming obligations and broader governance across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Own and oversee all compliance activities related to the Greek i-gaming licence, ensuring the organisation meets all legislative, regulatory, and licensing obligations with effective risk mitigation and control measures in place.
  • Lead compliance projects, risk assessments, and audits, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals and consistent adherence to internal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor, assess, and interpret regulatory developments within the Greek regulatory ecosystem, identifying areas requiring updates or remediation and translating requirements into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current policies and processes; recommend, draft, and implement improvements in line with regulatory expectations.
  • Manage all regulatory interactions - including inspections, audits, and reporting obligations - with emphasis on communications with the Hellenic Gaming Commission.
  • Support product and commercial initiatives from a compliance perspective, ensuring new products, campaigns, features, and market changes are reviewed proactively for regulatory compliance before launch, including managing game submission and regulatory approvals.
  • Monitor and support the ongoing development and enhancement of the Responsible Gaming Programme, ensuring alignment with Greek and other market-specific requirements.
  • Support regulatory change implementation projects, coordinating cross-functional execution of regulatory requirements, control enhancements, and deadline management.
  • Provide independent compliance support during due-diligence reviews for partners, suppliers, and potential acquisitions.
  • Provide day-to-day compliance advice and operational support to business units, maintaining accurate, up-to-date compliance documentation, records, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience (required)
  • At least 5 years' experience in a compliance management role, ideally within the i-gaming sector (required)
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, obligations, and regulatory dynamics across multiple jurisdictions, with particular depth in Greece (required)
  • Proven experience with Greek i-gaming licensing processes and ongoing compliance requirements (required)
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including leading cross-functional compliance initiatives (required)
  • Ability to develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls (required)
  • Strong knowledge of gambling regulations, including AML/CTF, Responsible Gaming, and data protection frameworks (required)
  • Strong research capabilities, particularly regarding emerging markets and evolving regulations (required)
  • Solid understanding of crisis management concepts and the ability to design remediation plans when required (required)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both written and spoken Greek and English, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders (required)
  • Exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and efficient time management (required)
  • Experience supporting new market entry or multi-jurisdictional licensing processes (nice-to-have)
  • Familiarity with product compliance review processes in an i-gaming or regulated digital environment (nice-to-have)
