Game Mathematician

Description

The company is looking for a hardworking Game Mathematician to join its online casino games team. In this position, the individual will be key to inventing games by developing, validating, and balancing mathematical models that guide the player experience across a range of casino and iLottery games.

The successful candidate will collaborate with an experienced team on top-tier gaming products enjoyed by millions of players globally. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop the future of online casino games.

The role involves working closely with game designers, developers, and product managers to ensure games are mathematically accurate, commercially viable, and aligned with global gaming regulations. Demonstrated expertise in probability theory, RTP (Return to Player) modeling, volatility analysis, and regulatory compliance mathematics will be essential to success.

Responsibilities
  • Build and develop complete mathematical frameworks for new casino and iLottery game concepts, including paytables, prize structures, win distributions, and feature mechanics.
  • Define and balance core math parameters: RTP, volatility, hit frequency, maximum win, and bonus contribution percentages to meet both business and player experience targets.
  • Build and run Monte Carlo simulations and statistical models to validate game behavior across billions of game rounds.
  • Produce comprehensive math specification documents and game math sheets for use by designers, developers, QA, and certification labs.
  • Liaise with external certification bodies (e.g., GLI, BMM, eCOGRA) to support regulatory submission and approval of game mathematics.
  • Review and verify implemented game logic in-engine to ensure it matches approved math specifications.
  • Analyze live game performance data and player metrics to find opportunities for math rebalancing or feature improvement.
  • Stay current with evolving gaming regulations across international markets and incorporate compliance requirements into math build.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of internal math tooling, simulation frameworks, and documentation standards.
  • Participate in concept reviews and provide mathematical feasibility assessments for proposed game features and mechanics.
  • Work collaboratively with global studio teams for status updates and delivery of defined mathematical goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Game Mathematician in the online casino or iLottery industry (required).
  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (required).
  • Proven experience with RTP build, paytable construction, and volatility balancing for slot or casino games (required).
  • Proficiency in at least one simulation or scripting language (Python, MATLAB, R, C++) (required).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for mathematical modeling and analysis (required).
  • Experience with iLottery game mathematics (instant win, draw-based, keno-style games) (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with GLI, MGA, UKGC, or other regulatory certification standards (nice-to-have).
  • Experience with RNG theory and certified gaming environments (nice-to-have).
  • Knowledge of table game mathematics (Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Poker variants) (nice-to-have).
  • Experience working in an agile methodology with the Scrum framework (nice-to-have).
  • Experience with live casino game mathematics (nice-to-have).
Benefits
  • Robust benefits package.
  • Global career opportunities.
