Junior Animator
The Junior Animator is responsible for crafting and animating symbols, characters, and images used in game software, progressive links, and other gaming products. This position collaborates with designers and programmers to build outstanding gaming concepts and entertaining products.
Aristocrat requires the individual to contribute at all levels of the art production pipeline, from conceptualising game designs to final game art, proving multiple creative solutions throughout. The role involves working closely with the Art Director and team to develop artistically and professionally while maintaining organised, layered files and asset storage. The Junior Animator understands the rules of animation and applies them to their work, models texture and light 2D and/or 3D objects and scenes, and builds original 2D and/or 3D animations and graphics. Knowledge in character animation is a plus. The Junior Animator understands storyboards and builds Animatics for game workflow.
- Contribute at all levels of the art production pipeline, from conceptualising game designs to final game art, proving multiple creative solutions throughout.
- Maintain organised, layered files and asset storage.
- Work closely with the Art Director and team to develop artistically and professionally.
- Apply the rules of animation to work.
- Model, texture, and light 2D and/or 3D objects and scenes.
- Build original 2D and/or 3D animations and graphics.
- Understand storyboards and build Animatics for game workflow.
- Break down animation assets needed per task and provide accurate estimates.
- Associate’s degree in art design, Animation or related field (required)
- Intermediate level in animation (required)
- Shows experience with animation tools and techniques required, as shown in portfolio (required)
- Previous experience in the gaming industry (nice-to-have)
- Proficient in Photoshop and After Effects, and After Effects plug-ins; Red Giant and/or Video-Copilot (required)
- Familiarity with Autodesk Maya and related 3D Art packages (required)
- Intermediate level abilities in 3D modelling, texturing, rigging, lighting and animation (nice-to-have)
- Knowledge of understanding storyboarding, video production and 2D/3D animation (required)
- Exceptional drawing, illustration and composition ability (nice-to-have)
- Ability to speak, read and understand English (required)
- Ability to tolerate moderate to occasional high levels of stress (required)
