Junior Pre-Event Trader (Basketball)
Novibet is seeking a Junior Pre-Event Trader with a focus on basketball to join its team. The role is responsible for ensuring first-class sports offerings and providing customers with an industry-leading experience. This involves researching and analysing data, compiling odds, and managing risk for a variety of domestic and international basketball leagues.
The successful candidate will compile odds manually and automatically, manage risk effectively to achieve optimal pre-event margins, and profile customers. They will also work on improving trading tools, ensuring a comprehensive sports offering, and developing data-driven analytical tools for odds creation. A key aspect of the role is proactively monitoring competitors' offers and products, providing insights to increase competitiveness, and identifying and mitigating risks.
- Compilation of odds both manually and automatically, using automated data feeds.
- Effective risk management of Basketball events so that optimum pre-event margin is achieved.
- Customer profiling both overall and on a bet-by-bet basis.
- Improve the performance of the trading tools.
- Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive industry-leading sports offering.
- Develop and manage data-driven, analytical tools for the creation of odds.
- Monitor, in a proactive manner, competitors’ offers and products.
- Provide insight and suggest ways to increase competitiveness.
- Identify risks and take necessary actions to eliminate or minimise risks.
- Working Experience in a relevant position (nice-to-have).
- Enthusiastic about basketball with a strong interest and knowledge especially about the NBA and the Euroleague (required).
- Good understanding of sports odds (required).
- Great attention to detail and good analytical and numerical skills (required).
- A sports enthusiast with a strong data and customer-focused mindset (required).
- Able to cope with a fast-paced, challenging environment (required).
- Strong computer skills with advanced MS Excel skills (required).
- Possess a can-do attitude and be a team player (required).
- Flexible to work on shift rotation 24/7 (required).
- BSc in Mathematics / Physics / Engineering / Economics (required).
